Our Hosts

Our hosts here on the island are true Manshausen enthusiasts. Ondrej is on his fifth season and Angus his second, and now they have taken over the responsibility as hosts.
Both Angus and Ondrej love nature. Love how the experiences, the interaction, the sustainability and the joys this island and Steigen blend together. They are curious, and what they both have in common is that they are passionate about the good moments, whether it consists of the tranquility you find at Sjøhyttene - everything the nature around us can tempt you with - or the dining experience that they believe ties it all together. Angus and Ondrej are ready to welcome you to Manshausen and give you memories that will last a long time.

Ondrej Taldik

Ondrej has already managed to become a real islander. He came as a young star chef. Loved the opportunities, the experiences and the culinary creativity the eye offered. When the previous hosts signed off, Ondrej was ready for the challenge to take over in 2021..

Angus Staples

Angus was born and raised in the south west of England. After finishing his education he moved to New Zealand for 2 years, which is where he fell in love with mountains. His love of mountains is what resulted in him moving to Manshausen in 2022 as part of our guiding team.

Growing up in a farming family, Angus has always preferred being outdoors. In 2022 when he was a guide for Manshausen he often joked that on work days he was either hiking, kayaking or fishing and on his days off he was either hiking, kayaking or fishing.

When given the opportunity to step-up as a host at Manshausen, Angus knew he was up for the task as he loves going the extra distance to make guests’ stay here as memorable as possible.
